Vintage Mens Riedell Gold Star Competition Roller Skates Sz 8 Vanguard Tigerclaw

For sale is a pair of Vintage Men's Riedell Gold Star Competition Level Roller Skates Size 8 with Snyder Wheels in excellent pre-owned condition. I didn't polish these prior to taking photos, so the scuffs you see are what's really there.

Wheels show some light usage but they spin freely and don't have any rust or grime. One wheel is a darker color and may not be from the original set. Please see photos and description for complete condition details.

There is no size stated on the inside of the skates. I finally found a mark on the bottom sole that reads'W8'.

Just to be sure, I took them down to the local cobbler to see if he could size them for me. He pulled out the insole to measure it and confirmed the size. I traced this insole and noted the length and width in the final photo (it's kind of faint to see). Length of foot is 10 5/8" and width of foot is 2 1/4".

I asked the cobbler if there was anything noteworthy about the skates that I could mention in my listing and he replied'They're the best quality made'. The leather is extremely stout and sturdy at almost 1/4 thick. The wheels have the name'Vanguard Tigerclaws' written on the side. Skates measure approximately 11" long by 11.5" tall (wheels to top of skate). Each skate weighs approximately 4 1/2 (9 pounds total). Thank you for looking at my listing!
